Plantain & Kawakawa Soap (Unscented)
This soap is made using two very medicinal plants that has been infused in olive oil. This new batch has ben made without essential oils for people with sensitive skins. The addition of French Green Clay is valued for its oil-absorbing and skin-balancing properties that helps to draw out impurities and minimise excess oil. This soap is ideal for oily, combination, and breakout-prone skin types.
Kawakawa is a plant native to New Zealand. Its heart-shaped leaves and characteristic leaf holes make it easy to recognise. New Zealand history identifies Maori using this plant both topically and orally for many disorders. Recent studies have found a key component Pellitorine has a numbing effect on the body that could explain its widespread use for pain relief in Maori Ronga. It plays a key role in chemical pathways in the body that reduces inflammation and alo for various topical skin conditions like acne.
Plantain is a prolific weed. It spreads by seed and isn’t fussy where it grows. It is a low dwelling perennial plant found nearly everywhere in New Zealand and very underrated. It helps moisturises the skin and is an effective anti-itching herbal plant. Plantain is known for its wound healing and antioxidant, antibacterial, and anti-inflammatory properties.
