Chamomile & Calendula Shampoo Bar

Our Chamomile Calendula Shampoo Bar is great for those with fine or light coloured hair. It strengthens and adds volume to thin and brittle hair. The gentle formula of nourishing oils and butters leaves your dry hair and scalp moisturised thereby soothing any scalp irritations - reducing the itch, flaking and dandruff.

Chamomile - is packed with Vitamin C and E. This herb is a great anti-inflammatory and said to soothes the scalp, while adding softness, strength and shine to help prevent brittle hair. It protects hair from damage caused by frequent exposure to the sun.

Calendula - treats scalp conditions such as dandruff and hair loss. It also seals in moisture, promotes hair shine, and aids with tangles

Included with every Shampoo Bar is a reuseable Mesh Soap Bag. Keep your bar in this bag. Use it to wash your hair with - it will help with the lather, reduces the amount of shampoo bar you use and allows you to hang it up easily to dry out between washes. Great for the smallest of soap scraps too - this way you get to use all of the bar and there is zero wastage.

Ingredients: Beeswax, Castor Oil, Coconut Oil, Jojoba Oil, Meadowfoam Oil, Chamomile infused Olive Oil, Sustainable Palm Oil, Shea Butter, Calendula tea infusion, Essential Oils of Tea tree, Lavender and Lemongrass

WHAT IS A SHAMPOO BAR?  It is an eco- friendly alternative to liquid shampoos. They can last for a long time if looked after correctly. They are less harmful to the environment since they do not come in plastic containers and make for great option to take away on your travels or camping trips. Most can be used as an all in one wash for hair, body or face.

Base oils generally used in these bars are the ones that are firm at room temperature - coconut oil, cocoa or shea butters with the addition of nourishing oils like jojoba or hemp. All oils have different properties and create slightly different bars, especially when essential oils, herbs etc are added

TRANSITION PERIOD: Some people when changing over from shampoo to natural shampoo bars have hair that goes a little weird on them as it gets back to it’s natural state. Commercial shampoos are laden with silicones and other chemicals that coat the hairs on your head and these can take a while to wash/wear away. Stick with it!

WHY USE A VINEGAR RINSE: Since shampoo bars have a higher pH than store-bought shampoos, it is important to follow with a vinegar rinse to smooth the cuticle and add shine to your hair. Everyone’s hair is different but you could try every week or so by using 2 tablespoons vinegar (white wine or apple cider) in 1 litre warm water and rinse thoroughly after you shampoo.
